School Crossing Guards are borough employees having direct supervision by the Chief of Police. Crossing Guards assist children safely with street crossing at key locations. They also remind drivers of the presence of pedestrians. All borough school crossing guards undergo over 20 hours of initial classroom and field training before functioning as a full or part time school crossing guard.
